Henderson County Community Health Improvement

Following requirements of the state of North Carolina, Henderson County conducts a Community Health Assessment (CHA) every three years. Through comprehensive data collection, analysis and community engagement, the CHA identifies key health needs and issues in the county. In turn, a Community Health Improvement Plan is created as a guide to address the identified health priorities. Partnership for Health provides backbone support to the Community Health Improvement cycle.

In 2024, Henderson County identified three community health priorities: Mental Health, Housing, and Chronic Disease.

Health disparities were recognized as a common concern among all priorities. An equity-based approach to improve health outcomes is an inherent part of community health plans for each priority.
